Exhibition Planned on Sidelines of Iran’s Int’l Quran Competition

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Quran and Etrat Deputy of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance will mount a Quranic exhibition on the sidelines of the 34th edition of the country’s International Holy Quran Competition.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Heshmati, the ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy made the announcement, saying that both the contest and the exhibition will be held at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall).

He described the annual competition as a main Quranic-cultural event that plays an important role in promoting the Quranic culture.

Following talks with the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, which organizes the competition, the of Culture Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy assumed the task of mounting the exhibition, he noted.

He expressed hopes that through the cooperation of the two bodies, there will be a rich exhibition that can acquaint the participants in the Quranic event with the culture of the Islamic Iran and rectify the distorted image of the country spread by enemies of Islam.

The 34th edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competition will be held in the Iranian capital Tehran for a week, starting from April 19.

Representatives of over 70 Muslim and non-Muslim countries are expected to take part in the competition.
