TEHRAN (IQNA) – A member of the panel of judges in the fifth edition of a European Quran competition said the contest has made significant progress in recent years.

The competition began in Hamburg, Germany, on Friday, with the participation of 160 Quran activists from different European countries.

Ali Ramezani, an official with the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Islamic Centre Hamburg, the organizer of the event, is a member of the panel of judges.

He said the level of the contest has improved in terms of both quantity and quality compared to previous years.

Asked about the activities of the Dar-ol-Quran Center, he said it holds weekly Quranic courses as well as specialized workshops on Quran recitation skills.

He added that the center also works to identify and introduce talented Qairs to international Quranic events.

Ramezani serves as a member of the panel of judges in the field of Sawt.

The competition is being held in the categories of Quran memorization, Quran recitation and Adhan recitation for two age groups of blow 16 and 16 and above.
