Dubbed the Awqaf Award, the competition will be held on memorization and recitation of the Quran, al-Bayan website reported.
The Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Department said those willing to take part in the contest can sign up as of Sunday, March 12.
There will be three rounds: preliminary, main and final, according to Muhammad Matar al-Kaabi, the director of the department.
He said the main stage will be organized from April 9 to 20 and the best contenders will make to the finals.
Al-Kaabi added that the capital city of Abu Dhabi will host the final round from May 8 to 18.
Winners will be awarded at a special ceremony scheduled to be held in the holy month of Ramadan.
They will receive
cash prizes ranging from 4,000 to 30,000 Emirati Dirhams.
