TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s representative in the memorization category of Kuwait’s international Quran competition said he is well prepared for a good performance in the upcoming Quranic event.

Iran Memorizer Ready for Good Performance at Kuwait Int’l Quran Contest

The 8th international Quran competition of Kuwait, known as the Kuwait Quran Prize, will be held in Kuwait City’s Sheraton Hotel on April 13-19.

Participants from 79 countries will compete in the categories of memorization and Tahghigh and Tajweed recitation of the Quran.

Speaking to IQNA, Davoud Fallahi Meybodi, who will compete for Iran in the competition, said that he seeks to showcase the capabilities and talents of Iranian Quran memorizers at the international level.

He said he has contacted Iranian memorizers who attended the competition in previous years to get more familiar with the regulations and what members of the panel of judges expect from the participants.

Fallahi Meybodi said that unlike Iran’s Quran competition which put emphasis on Sawt and Lahn, in the Kuwait contest more importance is attached to Hosn Hifz (accuracy of memorization) and Tajweed.

Noting that no Iranian memorizer has so far managed to win the top title in Kuwait’s international Quran contest, he said he would spare no efforts to show his best performance but what matters is acting as a good ambassador for the country in the international event.

The Islamic Republic of Iran will also have a representative in the recitation category of the contest.
