“Imam Ali (AS)” Research Center for Quranic Studies Opens in Najaf

TEHRAN (IQNA) – “Imam Ali (AS)” Research Center for studies in Quran, Nahjul Balaqa and Sahifa Sajjadiyya was opened for seminary students in the holy city of Najaf, Iraq.


It was opened by the Dar-ol-Quran affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), Hazrat Abbas (AS) and Imam Sajjad (AS).

The opening ceremony was attended by Seyyed Nazar Hashim Hablul-Matin, the custodian of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine, representatives of the holy sites in Iraq and a number of experts from Najaf Seminary.

Addressing the program, Hablul-Matin said that the center was set up following the guidelines of the source of emulation in the holy city of Najaf to pay special attention to Quran, Nahjul Balaqa and Sahifa Sajjadiyya.

He added that more Quranic centers are needed to be launched to disseminate the Quranic culture and the Ahl-ul-Bayt’s (AS) thoughts in the society.

Also speaking in the program, Sheikh Mustafa Abu Al-Tabouq, head of the Religious Affairs Section of the Astan, said that the center offers two-year courses aiming to train experts in Quranic sciences, Nahjul Balaqa and Sahifa Sajjadiyya.

He added that branches of the new research center will be opened in all provinces of Iraq.
