Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur will host the international Quranic event on May 15-20.
Speaking to IQNA, Alizadeh, who will compete in the recitation category, said he hopes to win the top title in the competition.
"I will do my best to be deserving of representing the Islamic Republic of Iran in this competition,” he said.
Alizadeh noted that since three months ago when he was selected to compete for Iran in Malaysia’s Quranic event, he has spent a lot of time to prepare for the contest.
He said he has studied the regulations of the competition several times and consulted with most of the Iranian Qaris who took part in the previous editions.
According to Alizadeh, Iranian Quran master Gholam Reza Shahmiveh, who will accompany the young Qari to Malaysia for guidance, has provided him with excellent tips for improving his recitation skills.
Malaysia holds the international Quran competition every year with the participation of Quran reciters and memorizers from various countries.
Last year, Iran’s Seyed Mostafa Hosseini came fourth in the contest.
In 2015, Mohsen Hajihassni Kargar from Iran won the first rank in the recitation category of the competition.
