Turkey Publishes Quran Translation in Samoan
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Turkey’s Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) has published a translation of the Quran in the Samoan language.
According to the Hurriyet daily, 2000 copies of the translation have been distributed among those speaking the language.
The copies were sent to Samoa to be distributed among Muslims there.
Samoa is a country comprising the westernmost group of the Samoan Islands, in Polynesia, the Pacific Ocean.
A very small number of Samoa’s population, estimated at 188000, are Muslim.
The distribution of the Quran translations by Diyanet was part of a campaign called "Let my Gift be a Quran.”
