The ceremony was organized on the occasion of mid-Sha’ban, the birthday anniversary of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his glad advent).

A number of Muslims from Iraq and different cities of the Netherlands attended the ceremony held by the Committee of Religious Rituals and the Women Section of the institute.

Speeches on religious issues, eulogies and Quranic-cultural competitions were different parts of the program.

The Dar-ol-Quran center also plans to hold various Quranic programs in the holy month of Ramadan.

There are almost one million Muslims in the country, representing approximately 6 percent of the population.

Muslims are concentrated in large urban areas, particularly the four largest cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Ulrecht.
