The Quran’s 40 pages are made of 6 millimeter plywood on which verses have been written with acrylic glass.
Created by some 40 inmates at Isfahan Central Prison, it weighs over 1400 kilograms.
It has various decorations made using woodwork techniques like marquetry, wood carving, wood inlay, etc.
The creators of the artwork plan to donate it to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in Mashhad, northeast Iran, at the end of the exhibition.
