TEHRAN (IQNA) – The closing ceremony of the 21st Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) was held on Thursday.

Winners of the top ten ranks in the competition were announced and awarded at the ceremony, hosted by the city’s Cultural and Scientific Association auditorium.

The panel of judges announced Mohammad Tariqul Islam from Bangladesh as the winners of the top rank.

The 13-year-old Islam, who also got the fourth prize in the ‘beautiful voice’ category, walked away with the first prize of Dh250,000.

The runner-up was Huzaifah Siddiqui from the United States who bagged the second prize of Dh200,000.

The third prize went to Modou Jobe from The Gambia, Abdul Aziz Al Obaidan from Saudi Arabia and Tunisian Rachid Allani, sharing the Dh150,000 prize.

Ali Feizi from the Islamic Republic of Iran was not among the top ten winners of the competition.

He had a very good performance in the competition and was among the favorites to win the top title.

Representatives of over 100 countries took part in this edition of the international Quranic event.

The competition is annually held in the holy month of Ramadan.
