Laylat Al Qadr Rituals at Behesht Zahra (SA) Cemetery

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Behesht Zahra (SA) cemetery was one of the sites, along with hundreds of mosques and religious centers, in Tehran where the ritual of Ihya of Laylat Al Qadr (keeping vigil and performing prayers and reading the Quran at Laylat Al Qadr) was held Thursday night.

The programs also included mourning rituals on martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), which fell on the 21st day of Ramadan (Friday).

Laylat Al Qadr is considered the holiest night of the year for Muslims and is believed to fall either on the 19th, 21st, 23rd or 27th day of Ramadan.

It commemorates the night that the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
