Iranian Qari Tells of Guineans’ Interest in Quran Recitation

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Ali Farbin, a renowned Iranian Quran reciter, travelled to Guinea earlier this year to recite Quran in mosques and religious centers in the African country.

He was in Guinea from May 25 to June 28.

A few days ago, he told IQNA about his activities and Quran recitations in the African country and how enthusiastic the people listened to the recitations.

He said that during his stay there, he would recite the Quran in mosques in Conakry, the capital, at noon.

In the afternoon, he would hold a Quranic course in Arabic for Shia students of religious sciences.

The course featured different aspects and styles of recitation of the Quran.

He would also recite the Quran after Iftar during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Republic of Guinea is a country in West Africa, bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean.

It has a population of around 10 million and its official language is French.

Some 85 percent of Guinea’s population is Muslim and 10 percent is Christian.
