Senior Hezbollah Commander Martyred in Syria
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A senior commander of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement was martyred in the battle against Takfiri terrorists in Syria.
According to an announcement by the movement, Ali al-Hadi Ashiq, known as Hajj Abbas, was killed Monday near the city of Palmyra in central Syria.
The movement said that his funeral will be held in Baalbek on Wednesday.
Ali al-Hadi Ashiq took part in a large number of military operations against Takfiri terrorists in Lebanon’s border areas and Syria.
Since 2014, Hezbollah and the Lebanese military have been defending Lebanon on the country’s northeastern frontier against foreign-backed terrorist groups from neighboring Syria.
Hezbollah fighters have also been providing assistance to Syrian army forces to counter the ongoing foreign-sponsored militancy.
