Turkey's Religious Affairs Body Translates Quran into 4 Languages

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Turkey's top religious affairs body, the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) has translated the Holy Quran in four different languages, it said Tuesday.

They include Bulgarian, Uzbek and two African native languages, Chewa and Shona, it said.

With its 'No languages without Quran' project, Diyanet says it aims to spread the message of Quran to people in all corners of the world.

The translations in Chewa and Shona languages will be sent to the African countries of Zimbabwe and Malawi.

Diyanet had translated the Quran in several other languages before, acting on requests from different countries.

It has accelerated its efforts with plans to publish the Quran in German, French, Russian and Persian.

The Persian translation ix expected to be ready in 2018.
