Nat’l Quran Contest Underway in Kuwait
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of Kuwait’s 21st national Quran competition kicked off in the Arab country on Sunday.
According to 3ajlnews.com website, it features memorization and Tajweed recitation of the Holy Quran.
Mansour Saqa’abi, an official with the organizing committee, said a total of 1729 individuals are taking part in the competition, which will run until Wednesday.
Kuwait’s Awqaf ministry has organized the event in cooperation with the ministry of social affairs.
Saqa’abi said 40 charity organizations have also contributed to the organization of the contest.
Also attending the competition are Kuwaiti nationals studying in universities in Britain and Ireland.
