Iranian Qari Recites Quran in Karbala

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian Qari Seyed Javad Hosseini was among those reciting verses from the Holy Quran at an international Quran recitation session in Karbala, Iraq.

The event, titled Zuyuf al-Quran (guests of the Quran), was held in the city with the participation of prominent Qaris from Iraq and a number of other countries.

The Dar-ol-Quran al-Kareem affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine organized the program.

Sheikh Khayruddin Hadi, an official with the center, hailed the positive outcomes of such Quranic events for the youth and the pilgrims.

 

Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
