According to Arab48 news website, Fadi Mohammad al-Batash was attacked by unknown gunmen on his way to a mosque for prayers on Saturday morning.
The two gunmen riding a motorcycle shot him in the head and he died soon after, the report said.
No one has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
Batash was a memorizer of the entire Quran and a scholar teaching at a local university in Gombak.
The 35-year-old was from the city of Jabalia, the Gaza Strip.
Khaled al-Batash, a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has blamed the Zionist regime’s spy agency, Mossad, for the attack.
