Quran Competition for Kids Underway in Qatar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 25th edition of “Sheikh Jasim bin Muhammad” Quran competition for girls and boys started in Qatar on May 18.

 

According to Al-Sharq newspaper, 2300 children, including both Qatari nationals and those residing in the Arab country, have participated in the competition.

Organized on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the contest will continue for 7 days.

The organizing committee said that compared to the last edition, this year 200 more children have taken part in the Quranic event.

A group of Quran experts making up 18 committees supervise the competition.

Qatar is a Muslim-majority country in the Persian Gulf with a population of about 2.6 million.
