TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Iranian lawmaker praised the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) for successfully organizing the 6th edition of the International Quran Competition for Muslim Students.

In a letter to ACECR Chief Hamid Reza Tayyebi, Hojat-ol-Islam Nasrollah Pejmanfar thanked those involved in organizing the Quranic event.

The 6th edition of the competition was held in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad on April 27-29.

It saw the participation of 44 Quran activists, 19 Qaris and 25 memorizers from 35 countries.

Iran’s representatives won the top title in both categories of the contest, namely recitation and memorization of the Quran.

The Iranian Academics’ Quranic Activities Organization, affiliated to the ACECR, has organized the competition biannually since 2006 with the aim of promoting unity and cooperation among Muslim world students and elevating the level of Quranic activities.
