TEHRAN (IQNA) – UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths described his talks with leaders of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement as “constructive”.

In a post on Twitter, Griffiths said the negotiations in Sana’a on Thursday were constructive.

He added that on Thursday, August 2, he would inform the UN Security Council of the achievements of his trip to Yemen and talks with different parties.

As for reports that his plane was stuck in Sana’a after his talks with Ansarullah leaders, he said they delay was due to technical problems.

Media reports said Thursday that the UN envoy had been stuck at Sana’a airport because of the refusal of the Saudi-led coalition to give it permission to leave.

During his visit, Griffiths met with the leader of Ansarullah Abdul Malik al-Houthi, president of the Supreme Political Council, Mehdi al-Mashat, speaker of the House of Representatives Yahya al-Raei and head of the Ansarullah government Abdul Aziz bin Habtoor

Griffiths arrived in Sanaa last Wednesday from Riyadh.
