TEHRAN (IQNA) –  An exhibition of Muraqqa (paintings and calligraphy works) featuring verses of the Holy Quran was held in the Mormon Church in Manila, the Philippines.

The Iranian Cultural Center in Manila organized the expo in cooperation with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Manilla Chapter of Iranian Calligraphers Society, and the National Committee on the Filipino Family (NCFF) on the occasion of National Family Week.

A Muraqqa is an album in book form containing Islamic miniature paintings and specimens of Islamic calligraphy, normally from several different sources.

The English translation of the verses, which feature the rights and status of women in Islam, were also available in a brochure at the exhibition, which was received very well by the visitors.

It was opened by REV. FR. Carlos Reyes, secretary of interfaith dialogue in the Philippines Catholic Church.
