Quran Contest for School Students Held in Turkey
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran competition was held earlier this week for school students in the city of Sincan n Turkey’s Ankara Province.
The participants competed in two sections, for girls and boys, in the field of recitation of the Quran, the Star daily reported.
A number of the city’s officials, including the mayor and the Mufti of Sincan were present at the closing ceremony.
Winners of the contest in the girls and boys sections were announced and awarded at the ceremony.
Quranic activities have been growing in Turkey in recent years.
Turkey is a Muslim majority country in West Asia. Nearly 99 percent of the country's population adhere to Islam.
