Iranian Expert Heads Jury Panel of Iraq Quran Contest
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Veteran Iranian Quran expert Abdul Rasoul Abaei is in Iraq joining the panel of judges of a national Quran contest.
According to Qaaf news agency, the internationally known Quranic figure heads the panel.
Other members of the panel include Iraqi Quran masters Adil al-Yaseri, Sami al-Qarawi, Myatham al-Tammar, Ala al-Sadiqi, and Adnan al-Salihi.
Titled al-Safeer, the competition began at Muslim ibn Aqeel Prayer Hall in the southern city of Kufa on Friday.
It has been organized on the occasion of the birthday anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), the 6th Shia Imam.
As many as 45 Qaris and memorizers from different parts of Iraq are competing in the categories of Quran memorization and recitation.
