TEHRAN (IQNA) –  The spokesman for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) underlined that the messages of Iran’s Islamic Revolution originate from the Holy Quran.

Speaking to IQNA, General Ramezan Sharif said that is why the resistance discourse has spread in the region and the world thanks to the Islamic Revolution.

He said before the 1979 revolution, there were two discourses in the world: that of communism led by the former Soviet Union and that of liberalism led by the US.

However, the general said, with the victory of the Islamic Revolution, a new discourse originating from the Quran and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) arose in the world.

He stressed that all of the achievements of the Islamic Revolution over the past 40 years have been made as a result of acting upon the Quranic teachings.

In order for these accomplishments to endure and the Islamic Revolution discourse to develop and deepen, acting upon the Quran must continue, General Sharif went on to say.

The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini (RA) established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.

Since the victory of the revolution, Quranic activities have significantly developed in the country.

On February 11, 2019, Iranians will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the revolution’s victory.
