The competition was organized by the Quranic Sciences Center affiliated to the Shias Awqaf Department of Iraq in cooperation with the Astan (custodianship) of the shrine of Maytham Tammar.
A total of 25 Qaris and Quran memorizers from different parts of the Arab country had made it to the final round.
According to the panel of judges, Muhammad Ali Kumash won the memorization of the entire Quran category.
In recitation of the Quran, Qassim Sabah Nouri, Reza Tali Nasser and Sajjad Ala came first to third, respectively.
The two top winners will represent Iraq in this year’s international Quran contest for the visually-impaired.
The 4th international Quran competition for the visually-impaired is planned to be held in Tehran in April.
