2700 Kuwaitis Attending Al-Hisawi Quran Contest
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A national Quran competition named Mubarak Abdul Aziz al-Hisawi Prize got underway in Kuwait on Saturday.
According to the al-Anba daily, some 2,700 Kuwaitis are taking part in the competition, which will run until late April.
Yusuf al-Samiei, an official with the organizing committee, said the competition is held separately for men and women.
He said there is also a section for the disabled attended by some 850 individuals.
According to al-Samiei, the closing and awarding ceremony of the contest is slated to be held on April 30.
