Astan Hazrat Abdul Azim to Hold Itikaf in Ramadan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The holy shrine of Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani (AS) in Rey, south of Tehran will host the spiritual ritual of Itikaf (religious retreat) in the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the public relations office of the Astan (custodianship) of the shrine, it will be held on May 31-June 2, corresponding to the 25^th to 27^th day of Ramadan.

Those willing to take part in the spiritual event can register by Wednesday, May 15.

Itikaf, in the Islamic faith, is a particularly commended pious practice consisting of a period of retreat in a mosque, for a certain number of days in accordance with the believer’s own wish.

Those taking part in the spiritual ritual sit in mosques and fast and pray God during the three days of Itikaf.
