Khalid Nabi Shrine in Northeast Iran
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Khalid Nabi shrine is near Gonbad-e Kavous city in Golestan province in northeastern Iran near the border with Turkmenistan.
Khalid Nabi, according to oral tradition of the Yomut Turkomans was a pre-Islamic prophet and his mausoleum is visited by them for pilgrimage together with the neighboring one of Ata Chofun ("Father Shepherd"), his son-in-law.
