TEHRAN (IQNA) – Uzbekistan’s Muslim scholars have endorsed a versified translation of the Holy Quran in the Uzbek Language.    


It has been rendered from a Persian versified translation of the Quran by Iranian poet Omid Majd.

Uzbek translator Alim Boriyev has done the rendering, according to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

Senior Uzbek scholar Abdul Aziz Mansour is among those approving the translation.

Uzbek is a Turkic language that is the first official and only declared national language of Uzbekistan. The language of Uzbeks, it is spoken by some 33 million native speakers in Uzbekistan and elsewhere in Central Asia.
