Book Reading Contest Called ‘Sunshine in the Mirror’ Held

--The closing ceremony of the national book reading contest called ‘Sunshine in the Mirror’ on the thoughts and ideals of the late Imam Khomeini is to be held tomorrow at Tehran Teacher Training University (TTTU).

The ceremony will be attended by Dr Ali Montazeri the president’s advisor and head of university Jihad, a number of Majlis (Parliament) members, cultural and university officials and managers, as well as university students from all over the country.

Hamidreza Babai, executive secretary of the contest and cultural deputy of TTTU, said that the contest which is going to be held annually by his department, is aimed at familiarizing the young generation with the ideas of the late Imam Khomeini, promoting research studies on various aspects of the life of the founder of the Islamic republic of Iran and encouraging university students’ participation in fostering Imam Khomeini’s thoughts.

“2500 students from 170 universities took part in the contest with students from provinces of Khozestan, Isfahan, Yazd and Markazi having the highest participation rate” he said.

“The winners of the contest will be awarded with valuable prizes including Bahare Azadi gold coins and pilgrimage trips to Mecca, as well as works written by the late founder of the Islamic Republic” Babai added.

The executive secretary of the contest and cultural deputy of TTTU said that in holding the contest, Imam Khomeini Cultural Center, University Jihad’s Publishing House and Institute for the Compilation & Publication of Imam Khomeini's Works have cooperated with his department.
