Numerous Quranic Organizations Implementing Quranic Activities in Country

--Despite the presence of various bodies and organizations in charge of Quranic activities, there are some who claim there is no custodian for Quranic activities.
This is according to Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Hossein Saffar Harandi, who was speaking to directors of Quranic and cultural institutes of Yazd Province.

Saffar Harandi noting that there are numerous Quranic organizations active around the country recommended that they cooperate with each other to further promote the teachings of the holy Quran in society.

He referred to the supports the Culture Ministry has provided for Quranic activities and said that it is the responsibility of the administration to help foster Quranic programs.

He said that some 45 billion rials was allocated for the country’s Quranic institutes this year and estimated that a 200 billion rials budget is needed for the Quranic society to continue its activities next year.

“The Supreme Cultural Revolution Council has demanded that the Culture Ministry work out a comprehensive Quranic plan through which to determine the responsibilities and authority of Quranic organizations,” Saffar Harandi maintained.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Minister of Culture an Islamic Guidance said that there has been a great increase in the number of Quran activists and those who are active in areas like Quran recitation, memorization, Tajveed, and Quranic research.
