33rd Nat'l Edition of Awqaf Quran Contest to Be Launched

-- 33rd national edition of Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization’s Quran competition is slated to be launched on March 5-10, in Yazd province.
This is according to Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Sharafkhani, cultural deputy of the organization, who also told IQNA that top winners of the provincial round will make it to the national stage.
He said that in men’s section, 55 individuals will compete in the category of memorization of the entire Quran, 35 in the category of memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) and 33 in Tarteel category.
“53 participants in recitation category, 36 in category of memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) and 33 individuals in Tarteel category will compete in women’s section,” he added.
He went on to say that a large number of internationally- known Quran reciters and activists will attend the event.
Cultural deputy of the organization went on to say that Quranic exhibitions and specialized forums will be organized on the sidelines of the contest.
