According to Al-Bilad newspaper, Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad Al Sheikh, the minister and the supervisor general of the contest selected the judges of this edition of the contest to be held in late Muharram month in the Grand Mosque of Makkah.
Mansour bin Muhammad Al-Samih, secretary general of the contest said that the committee of the judges comprises Ahmad bin Ali Al-Seddis, head of the Quran Recitations Section of Islamic University in the holy city of Medina, Saud bin Abdul Aziz Al-Qanim, Quran teacher of Faculty of Religion Principles of Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and Abdul Aziz bin Fadhil bin Matar Al-Anzi, supervisor of the Center for Quranic Studies in Kuwait.
He added that Abdul Baset Salem Ali Barik, teacher of Education Office in Libya, Ali Muhammad Al-Akhidhar, head of the jury panel of national Quran contest in Chad and Yusuf Abdul Majid Al-Majidi, imam and preacher of Dhaka Mosque in Bangladesh are also members of the committee.
The members were selected from among the experts aged above 25 and less than 60.
Memorization of the Quran based in “Ghiraat-e Sab’” (seven recitations) and audio-visual health were other qualifications for membership of the jury panel.
The secretariat of the contest will organize educational courses on skills of judgment in national and international competitions on the sidelines of the contest.
