TEHRAN (IQNA) – Addressing “The Message of Ashura” Conference in India, Secretary General of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly said that an Ashura International Foundation is planned to be established.

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Ayatollah Akhtari said that the foundation will clarify and disseminate the teachings of Imam Hussein (AS) and his uprising.

He said that the period of Muharram and the mourning ceremonies held on the martyrdom anniversary of the Imam (AS) are the best opportunity for dissemination of the noble Islamic teachings as Imam Khomeini (RA) said that ‘it is the month of Muharram and Safar that have kept Islam alive’.

Ayatollah Akhtari added that in order to stand against the enemies of Islam, the Muslim world should be united and introduce and act upon the teachings of the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).

Also speaking in the conference, Hojat-ol-Islam Mahdavipur, representative of the Supreme Leader in India, expressed condolences on Mina incident and called upon Muslim preachers to make the best use of Muharram opportunity for introducing the lessons of Ashura.

He said that liberty, dignity and fighting the tyranny are some of the lessons of the Imam’s (AS) uprising which should be introduced to the world.

“The Message of Ashura” Conference was held last week in India by Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly in cooperation with Iranian Cultural Center in New Delhi and the representative office of the Supreme Leader in India.

Some of the new publications of the center, including “The Treaties of Rights” by Imam Sajjad (AS), in Urdu and Hindi languages were unveiled at the end of the program.
