Tehran to Host Iran-Oman Armies Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 7th friendship Quran competition between the armies of Iran and Oman will be held in the Iranian capital of Tehran later this week.

According to Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Reza Zamyar, an official with the organizing committee, the contest is slated for May 15-16.

He told IQNA that the headquarters of Iran’s Police Force will host the two-day Quranic event.

He said 14 Quran reciters and memorizers from Iranian armed forces will compete with 14 Quran activists from Oman’s army.

The competition will be held in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 20, 10, and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran.

It is annually organized either in Iran or Oman to enhance friendship between the armed forces of the two countries.
