TEHRAN (IQNA) – Director of the 27th Tehran International Quran Exhibition’s international section said interaction with the world’s Quranic institutes has been a major feature of this year’s expo.

Mahmoud Vaezi told IQNA that in this year’s edition, instead of asking governments to take part in the exhibition, the officials of the expo entered direct talks with Quranic institutes to invite them.

The Yayasan Restu Foundation of Malaysia and Tunisia’s University of Ez-Zitouna, which is one of the oldest universities in the Muslim world, are among those who accepted the invitation, he added.

Vaezi noted that Pakistan is the expo’s special guest this year and there are several other countries attending the Quranic event.

The international section of the exhibition was launched on Monday evening.

Representatives from India, Bahrain, Palestine, Nigeria, Yemen, Cameroon, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Oman and Ivory Coast are present at the expo.

The 27th edition of the exhibition is underway at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) here in the Iranian capital until May 24.
