Ramadan TV Quran Competition in Najaf
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A satellite TV channel in Najaf has organized a TV Quran competition on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
The network is affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS) has orgqanzied it in cooperation with the Astan’s Dar-ol-Quran Center.
The first stage of the contest started on the first day of Ramadan and will run until the 15th day of the month (May 20).
Ammar Talib al-Mousawi, an official with the organizing committee, said 15 contenders will make it to the semifinal round slated for the 23rd to 27th days of Ramadan.
He said the top five participants will compete in the finals.
According to al-Mousawi, a number of Iraqi Quran experts form the panel of judges.
