According to Mohammad Ali Ansari, secretary of the organizing committee, some 350,000 mourners are expected to take part in the program.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, he said all preparations have been made to hold the ceremony.
He said 300 Iranian and more than 50 foreign reporters will be covering the program.
Every year, the anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s demise is marked with a ceremony at his mausoleum with Leader of the Islamic Revolution and other Iranian officials in attendance.
Also, large crowds of Iranians travel to Tehran from different parts of the country to take part in the ceremony and pay tribute to Imam Khomeini at his shrine.
Ayatollah Ruhollah Mousavi Khomeini, better known as Imam Khomeini, engineered Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, which led to the overthrow of the US-backed Shah of Iran.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989, at the age of 87.
