According to Al-Arab newspaper, the Quranic Sciences Section affiliated to the Dissemination and Guidance Office of Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has organized the competition.
As many as 295 Quran students from different parts of the country have participated in the national Quranic event.
Six committees of Quran experts and Quran competition referees supervise the competition, which will run until December 3.
The main objective of the organizers is to encourage the students to put more efforts into memorization of the Quranic verses with observation of Tajweed principles and honor Quran memorizers of the country.
The participants compete on the memorization of 10, 15, 20 and 25 Juzes (parts) of Quran.
