First Day of Tunisia Quran Contest in Pictures

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Tunisia’s 17th international Quran competition is underway in the capital Tunis with the participation of representatives from 21 countries.

 

The contest, named after Imam Hassan bin Khalaf bin Balima Kairouani, a prominent 11th century Tunisian Qari, kicked off on Saturday and will run until December 13.

On the first day of the international event, contenders from the host country as well as Jordan, Bahrain, Algeria, Oman and Libya showcased their Quranic talents.

Hossein Poorkavir, a memorizer of the entire Quran, is representing the Islamic Republic of Iran in the contest.
