Leader Appoints New WFPIST Chief
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei appointed Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari as the new secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST).
In a decree on Sunday, the Leader highlighted the forum’s efforts and achievements in promoting unity in the Muslim world despite enemy attempts to foment discord and disunity.
Ayatollah Khamenei also stressed the need for the forum to tap into the unlimited potential of Islamic wisdom to further promote proximity and unity among Islamic schools of thought.
The Leader also thanked Hojat-ol-Islam Mohsen Araki for his efforts as the secretary general of the forum.
The forum was established in October 1990 at the order of Ayatollah Khamenei for promoting proximity among Islamic schools of thought.
