Final Stage of Quran Award Underway in Sharjah

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of the 23rd edition of UAE’s “Sharjah” Quran and Sunnah competition has been underway in the city since December 17.

 

According to Al-Watan website, 242 male and female Quran activists who are the top participants of the competition’s preliminary stage are present in the finals.

The Sharjah Quran and Sunnah Institute has organized the competition in two categories of memorization of the Quran and memorization of Hadiths of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The Quranic event, sponsored by Sultan ibn Muhammad Al-Qasemi, ruler of Sharjah, has been received very well this year by different age groups.

Encouraging teenagers and the youth to memorize the Quran and hadiths and act upon Islamic teachings are among the objectives of the competition.

The Quran memorization category includes 10 sections and the Hadith memorization category is being held in three sections. The disabled also compete in three categories.

Winners will be announced on the website of the institute on December 26 and will be awarded one million Emirati Dirhams in total.

The preliminary stage of the competition was held in November with 1732 participants.
