69 Quran Teachers Training Centers Launched in Egypt in 2019: Awqaf Ministry
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A total of 69 centers for training Quran memorization teachers were luanched in Egypt this year, the Ministry of Awqaf announced.
It added that the ministry also opened 370 new Quranic schools in the country in 2019, al-Bawaba news website reported.
Of these new schools, 18 are run by women Quran teachers and experts, it said.
Establishing 4 Islamic culture centers and 127 Islamic schools, holding 12,000 religous and cultural events in the holy month of Ramadan, organizing national Quran memorization and Tajweed competitions, and sending 55 Qaris to other countries for recitation of Quran were among other activities of the ministry in the year, it added.
The ministry also noted that it organized the 26th edition of Egypt’s international Quran memorization and Tafseer (interpretation) with the participation of 60 countries.
