Seminary Scholar Commemorated in Qatif

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A memorial service was held in the city of Qatif in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province for late Iranian Shia seminary scholar Ayatollah Seyed Hossein Shams Khorasani.

A number of Shia clerics and different groups of people attended the commemoration, which was organized by Allameh Sayed Zia al-Khabbas, according to ijtihadnet.net website.

Ayatollah Seyed Hossein Shams Khorasani died in Mashhad on Thursday, December 26, at the age of 94.

He was senior scholar of Qom and Mashhad seminaries.

The cleric, who studied Islamic sciences with such great figures as Ayatollah Boroujerdi, Ayatollah Milani, Imam Khomeini and Allameh Tabatabaei, wrote many books on Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and Islamic philosophy.
