Qatar’s Emir Arrives in Tehran
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived here in the Iranian capital on Sunday.
He has traveled to Tehran to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.
Sheikh Tamim was officially welcomed by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at the Saadabad Palace.
Last week, Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani traveled to Iran and held talks with Rouhani and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.
The Qatari Emir’s visit comes amid tensions in the region following the assassination of Iranian top commander General Qassem Soleimani and then Iran’s retaliation by launching missile strikes against US airbases in Iraq.
