Demonstrators in South Africa Condemn Gen. Soleimani Assassination

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Thousands of people attended a rally in Pretoria, South Africa, on Thursday to condemn the recent US assassination of Iranian top commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani.

 

Carrying pictures of late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA) and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, they chanted slogans against the US and Zionist regime and called for withdrawal of American forces from the Middle East.

Commander of the IRGC Quds Force General Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was the deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), and a number of their entourage were killed in the strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3.

The Pentagon said in a statement on that US President Donald Trump had ordered the US military to assassinate the senior Iranian commander.
