According to Al-Kafeel website, the Quranic course started on February 1 by Telawah Section affiliated to the Quran Institute of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine.
Alauddin Hamoud, a Quran expert supervising the course, said the three-month educational program is a complementary of the previous edition of the Quranic course from which 90 Quran reciters of the country graduated.
The course includes lessons on principles of Quran recitation, Sowt and Lahn, Waqf and Ibtida and advanced methods of preparing a recitation.
Sayyed Al-Maa’ is the title of the course, which is underway at the Quran Institute of the Astan in the holy city of Karbala.
Alauddin Hamoud and Seyyed Heidar Jelokhan Al-Mousawi are the instructors of the course.
Iraqi and Egyptian styles are the two famous Quran recitation styles in the Muslim world that have their own special features. The Iraqi recitation style is known with modesty in the Qaris’ voice.
