Events Marking ‘Quds, Cultural Capital of Muslim World’ Conclude

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Palestinian Awqaf Ministry wrapped up programs and ceremonies marking (Jerusalem) Al-Quds, Capital of Islamic Culture 2019.

 

Cultural institutes and activists contributing to the events were honored at the closing ceremony, elbalad website reported.

More than 150 programs were organized last year to mark Quds, Capital of Islamic Culture 2019.

There were also Palestinian culture weeks held in Jordan and Bahrain.

In a message to the closing ceremony, Salim Al-Malik, the director general of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), underlined efforts to support the cultural and civilizational heritage of Quds and efforts to enhance the holy city’s cultural, educational and media institutes.

He also reaffirmed ISESCO’s support for the resisting Palestinian nation in its struggle to reach its legitimate rights and independence.
