UAE Int’l Quran Contest Cancelled
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 6th edition of the Al Qasimia Holy Quran Award in the UAE was cancelled over coronavirus fears.
According to Sharjah24 news website, an official with the organizing committee said the decision has been made to protect public health and help national efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Al Qasimia University in Sharjah holds the International Award for Holy Quran and Sunnah biennially for boy and girl students from universities in the UAE and other countries.
It is organized in different categories, including Quran memorization (different levels) and Nabawi Sunnah.
The sixth edition of the competition had been scheduled to kick off on April 16.
