Speaking to Egyptian news website, Elbaladnews, he noted that Qaris do not have the opportunity to recite the Quran at programs and gatherings these days due to the pandemic.
Taruti added that Quran reciters should practice daily so that the quality of their voice will not decline.
Elsewhere in the interview, Taruti was asked about his role model in recitation.
He said there have been many examples, including top Qaris of Egypt such as Sheikh Mustafa Ismail, Shahat Anwar, Muhammad Sidiq Minshawi and Ragheb Mustafa Ghalwash.
Egypt is a country in North Africa with a population of around 96 million.
Muslims account for around 90 percent of the country’s total population.
Quranic activities are very common in the Muslim-majority Arab country and many of the Muslim world’s top Qaris in the past and present have been Egyptian.
